Hi.

Good news is rare these days, and every glittering ounce of it should be cherished and hoarded and worshipped and fondled like a priceless diamond.

Aryna Sabalenka Teams Up with Andre Agassi to Bring Victory to Las Vegas Tennis

March 1, 2025 – Las Vegas, NV: Aryna Sabalenka celebrates her Lion’s Cup win at the MGM Rewards Slam along with Naomi Osaka. The exhibit brought a fun and heartfelt evening of tennis to Las Vegas.

March 1, 2025 — Las Vegas — Under the dazzling lights of Las Vegas and its Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resorts and Casino, Aryna Sabalenka, the women's No. 1 ranked tennis athlete and Belarusian superstar, claimed victory of the Lion's Cup at the MGM Rewards Slam. The second annual event served as a tennis mirror reflection of a hopeful and successful 2025 tour, exhibiting tennis talent from around the world and highlighting its invaluable presence in the city of Las Vegas. Andre Agassi/Aryna Sabalenka claimed victory against Naomi Osaka/Mardy Fish in a 10-8 one round tie break mixed double game and then Sabalenka against Osaka victoriously in singles 6-4, 6-4.

The evening unfolded like a captivating fusion of tennis brilliance when Sabalenka teamed up in a double mixed display with the great and All-American champion Andre Agassi to win against tennis athletes Naomi Osaka and Mardy Fish. From the beginning of the match, Agassi expressed his amazement to join Sabalenka on a center court, almost as a passing torch of superpower from a legend to this generation's newest.

We’re better because of my partner; I’m already sweating being this close to her,” said Agassi before the set.

Aside from the heart which Osaka added by gathering and interviewing enthusiastic children to dream that hopefully one day they will also take center court, a gesture that reminded her of her daughter, and Fish bringing an equally heartfelt welcoming smile to the sport and culture which we cherish so much, the spotlight was on the future of tennis with Sabalenka inspiring the children of Belarus to dream endlessly and Agassi looking towards an All-American future for tennis, his country, and city.

From the brightest city in the world, Agassi took the plunge to dream a little and imagine winning a grand slam in the city of Las Vegas. "Literally a grand slam?" he raised his eyebrows with awe and a fresh breath of enthusiasm for his beloved sport when asked. "Something tells me that if Vegas wanted to do it, they would do it better than anyone, because that's just who we are."

"If I was to win one slam, I would love it to be in my home country, and adding more of a wish list, to have it in your own city and your own country, would be amazing!"

"Quite the after party as well," added Fish.

A sport into which Agassi has invested his life, as he calls it "Tennis is a metaphor for life" and now a generation's past legacy, he also added some words of wisdom to its future progress. "[Today] I'm not out there with them, the trials and tribulations of a gladiator sport," Agassi said as a first thought. He then continued to reflect on maybe one of the best and most raw 'ground zero' pieces of advice: the progress of tennis athletes and its hidden sequence of declines which unfortunately many athletes and teams don't notice until it's too late. "If you're not getting better, you're getting worse. You might think you're kind of hovering, but you're in the process of getting worse. Keep getting better!"
